TPS3610: Unused case of WDI pin

Part Number: TPS3610

Hi team,

Could you give me comment on following customer questions?

Q1. How to detect enabling/disabling the watchdog timer through WDI pin?

Q2. When disabling the watchdog timer with floating WDI pin, will reset trigger accidentally happen by adding noise on the floating WDI pin?

Q3. Can WDI pin be pulled low or pulled high in order to disable the watchdog timer instead of floating WDI pin?

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • Hi Takeshi-san,

Q1. If the WDI pin is high impedance, the watchdog is disabled. In any other case, it is enabled.

Q2. It depends on the level. WDI recognizes VIL at 0.3xVDD and VIH at 0.7xVDD. The reset should not trigger if it is between these values, but should be left high impedance.

Q3. No, if it is pulled low or high, it will be recognized as an input and operate as a watchdog.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.
