BQ28Z610-R1: minimum discharge current for Impedance Track

Part Number: BQ28Z610-R1

Hi Experts,

is there a minimum discharge current necessary in the application for the Impedance Track algorithm to work properly?

  • Hello Simon,

There is no minimum current. If the current is very small it may be hard to get high accuracy on the current so a larger sense resistor may be needed to use more of the -100mV to +100mV of the coulomb counting ADC. I believe the range is 1mOhm to 3mOhm for this gauge. It may also require editing data memory so the gauge knows to enter discharge mode with small current draw and update the Ra tables.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
