Hi 

I am using a smart battery which has Bq40Z50-r1 fuel gas gauge IC.

The battery while discharging it is allowed to discharge below the undervoltage level,So that battery is depleted completely and the following bits XCHG,XDSG,PF,TDA,TCA,2LVL Has been set.

The battery has been not logged during the discharge.

In the fuel gauge IC I have seen a Black box recorder which has been given.Is it a type where we can get the failure data(as parameters set during the Permanent Fail)

Is the cause for the failure data can be retrieved from the black box recorder.

or if we have any other way to get the data of how the failure happened.

    Hi Anandan,

    The Black Box data and the Lifetime data are both useful for trying to figure out what happened with the battery. Of course, the information is limited, so if you are able to capture this behavior with a log file it would be much better.
