LM3435: Please help analyze the application problems of LM3435

Part Number: LM3435

Hi,

I met some problems when using LM3435, please help me to analyze it . Attached is the schematic diagram .

My design information is as follows:

  • The maximum current value per R/G/B channel is 176mA

  • The RGB PWM is 120Hz, and the frame rate is suitable for the Lcos screen
  • Inductance  is 4.7uH

  • The power supply is lithium battery and the voltage is 3.4V~4.4V

     My question is as follows:

    1. I can hear the inductor scream . Is there any way to reduce or avoid the inductor scream?

    2. The ripple of the power supply is very large, about 0.5V. Is there any way to reduce the ripple?

    3. At low brightness levels, such as RGB at 100mA per channel, ray dithering is observed on the Lcos screen. Is there any way to  avoid the ripple?

    Best regards!

  • Hi,

The reason is that the protection function is not configured and the LM3435 is not disable in time when the load is open, and LM3435 has been damaged 。

Now,I will configure protection function and test again。

         Best regards!
