Dear support team!
In our application we use the LM46001 to generate a 12V output voltage with an input voltage range 15.8 to 33.6V. The max. output current is specified with 1A. We are using a very large output capacitance of >1mF because we need to avoid that the uController resets during supply interruption tests.
To guarantee, that the huge output capacitance gets loaded properly we decide to use the soft-start feature of the LM46001. Unfortunately this startup time should be as short a possible because otherwise the output capacitance must be increased further. Now the question is, how fast can we load the output capacitors to ensure that the 12V output voltage always starts properly.
