BQ25713: BQ25713 as a stand-alone charger (without host MCU)

Hi everyone,

can BQ25713 also be operated as a stand-alone battery charger, i.e. without host microcontroller? Can registers be configured at time of production, or are they volatile memory?

Hi Diego,

Yes it is volatile memory. The default settings are preconfigured and cannot be edited. This part is intended to run with constant host supervision, and once a POR event happens, all registers get reset to default settings.

Ok Kedar, thank you very much.

I've just found the new BQ25790 instead, which is very interesting and able to operate in autonomous mode. It also has volatile registers, though.
