UCC28180: what means s(f) in datasheet?

Part Number: UCC28180

Hi...

Now, I design circuit using UCC28180, so I read your datasheet.

I have one question.

what means s(f)? That is in function 103, 106 and 110.

I guess s(f) is j(2 * pi() * Fv) after reading "sluc506c". (function in C259)

is right? If not please let me know that.

have a nice day~

  • Hello Winston,

    Thank you for your interest in the UCC28180 PFC controller.

    Yes, you are correct.  s(f) is the complex frequency, and s(f) = j(2*pi*f).

    Regards,

    Ulrich

  • thank you for your reply.

    I've another question.

    M1M2 is different UCC28180's datasheet and "sluc506c(C183)".

    and M1's function(C185) was written "=IF(Vcomp<1,(0.068),IF(Vcomp<2,(0.156*Vcomp-0.0088),IF(Vcomp<4.5,(0.313*Vcomp-0.401),IF(Vcomp<5,1.007,"VCOMP MUST BE <5"))))" at sluc506c.

    Is 0.088 right when  IF(Vcomp<2...?

    "M1 = 0.156 x VCOMP - 0.088 if 1V < VCOMP < 2V" is written at datasheet page31.

    please check and let me know.

    best regards

  • Hello Winston,

    Yes, you are correct.  The factor in the Excel equation should be "0.088", not "0.0088".  This is a typographical error in the Excel tool.
    The datasheet equation is correct.

    Thank you for finding it!

    We will get it fixed as soon as possible.

    Regards,

    Ulrich
