BQ76952: bq76952-PTO

Part Number: BQ76952

Hello, Ti experts,

According to the specification, when the PTO occurs, CHG-FET will be automatically started.

However, the actual test found that after the CUV, then I made bq76952 trigger the PTO.

At this time, I found that the battery could not be charged or discharged.

             shouldn't CHG-FET be automatically enabled?

I don't know if my understanding is correct.

  • Hi,

I think this may be an error in the pre-production version of the datasheet. The new documentation for the device (which should release to ti.com next week) has this for the paragraph you highlighted:

When a PTO fault is triggered, the device will turn off the PCHG FET if configured for autonomous FET control, based on the setting in Settings:Protection:CHG FET Protections C[PTO]. Precharge mode cannot restart until this fault is cleared by sending the PTO_RECOVER() subcommand.

So the CHG FET will not be automatically enabled.

    Best regards,

    Matt
