LMZM33606: What is still functional when regulator is disabled using EN?

Part Number: LMZM33606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM73605

"If the EN pin voltage is pulled below the threshold voltage, the regulator stops switching and enters low quiescent current state"

What features are still functional when the device is in "low quiescent current state" ? I am specifically curious if the device is still partially functioning such as the power good feature or if all logic is completely disabled?

  • Hi Justin,

This power module has an internal LM73605 converter as the IC. Depending on the enable voltage, the device can be in two states "shutdown mode" or "standby mode" which is further detailed in Section 7.4.

In the case where the enable voltage is pulled directly to GND (0V), this will turn off all internal circuitry. The LDO that provides VCC to power the internal power MOSFETs will be off and additional circuitry running off the VCC rail will also be disabled. This creates a situation where there is 0V output and very low quiescient current is drawn from the power module.

    Regards,
