Searching for PMBus command

Hi,

I am doing an application regarding dogital power management . In that i am making a GUI for controling the SMPS. So, in the GUI, I made a textbox for retrieving the PMBus address but so far i read the article of PMBus for related command but i did not get any command. Can any one help me to do that, i know that we can make user command but i do not how to do that, As well as lokking for any existing command to do that so.

you can search all the valid addresses to locate installed devices.

There is no existing command in the PMBus specification for retrieving the address from an unknown device.

Their assumption was that you've built the hardware and defined the address at some point so this should be known information.

Also, if multiple devices are on the bus there is no way to query each individually without an address, sending a global address request command would result in the device with the lowest address always responding.

The way the Fusion Digital Power GUI determines the address of all devices connected to the bus involves querying every available valid address and verifying a response.

How can you simply query the device without command. So, for that I need to take one PMBus command for querying the address.

You need to choose a command to query, the Fusion GUI uses a MFR specific command which describes the device (DEVICE_ID) for the UCD92xx devices.
