UCC24630: allowing bidirectional current flow under light loads to improve cross regualtion

Part Number: UCC24630
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC24612

Hi, I have seem Hi Volt Interactive slide discussing how SRs allow negative current flow under light loads to improve cross regulation

Based on this document, the controller allow negative current.

The first question is if there is a simulation model for this controller?

I have been checking the datasheet and use the voltage-seconds value to calculate the Ton, so it is probably why allow negative currents. I could not see on the documentation related with this UCC24630 any reference to the cross regulation. The only demo board is single output converter.

Maybe you could help me to get some information about it? Anyway I will run some simulations to try to get a better idea of how it works.

  • Hello,

I checked the design tool page for this device and there are not simulation models for this driver.

The UCC24612 SR driver does have a Simplis model that you can find at the following link.
