TPS65185: Is the TPS651851 compatible with eink 13.3" epaper screens ED133UT3 (gray scale) and EL133US1 (B/W/R)?

Part Number: TPS65185
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61086

Good morning everyone,

I'm working on the design of a board that would control the Eink 13.3" display (it should be compatible with both the ED133UT3  and the EL133US1). In order to do that, I will be using the IT8951. At the beginning, I was considering to replicate the design of the ICE dev board sold by Eink which uses the MAX1735 as PMIC.

But, when I contacted ITE Tech, they told me that the ICE can only handle the ED133UT3 (gray scale) and not the EL133US1 (B/W/R) and I should replicate the design of the CONCERTO dev board which can handle both displays and uses the TPS651851. They also said that an additional supply with the TPS651851 is needed but they didn't know exactly what is needed, they recommended to directly contact Eink to ask this question but, Eink being so secretive, they refused to help me...

On my side, I started doing some diggings and I was a bit surprised by what ITE Tech is saying because, on both ED133UT3 and EL133US1 and datasheets, EInk indicates that the gate positive voltage has to be between 26 and 28V, which doesn't seem okay for the TPS651851 since it can do max 22V.

In addition to that, I see, in the table below taken directly out of Eink website, that the concerto does not seem to be compatible with any of the 13.3" screens...

Does any of you know which PMIC I should pick between the TPS651851 and the MAX1735 and if I need to add a second supply together with the main PMIC?

ITE Tech seems to think I should add a TPS61086 which is connected to the VCOM[0] and VCOM[1] pins of the IT8951, they seem to be used for the EPD AC MODE according to IT8951 datasheet but I have no idea of what that is.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Regards
