TPS24741: Lesser Size/weight Recommendation

Hello Team,

I have a customer that is using the TPS24741 for a light weight drone application. This part was chosen because it is specifically recommended for a hotswap / Oring application. The part works great, but we are looking for something with comparable performance in a smaller/lighter package.

    • Protection Features Required: like inrush current control, short circuit protection, reverse current protection, etc.. ?

    Yes, all of the above - We are using the full feature set of the TPS24741RGER controller to which both FETs are attached.

  • HI Dajon,

    We have an integrated solution (Controller + Hotswap FET + Blocking FET) which can support inrush current control, short circuit protection, reverse current protection and input reverse polarity protection for load current upto 5.5A in a 2mm x 2mm package.

    In case you are okay to split your rail into 2 x 5A then we can use two of these devices and realize all the protection features. Else, TPS24741 controller + Back to Back FETs is our only solution.
