BQ78Z100: Writing Manufacturing Data via HQQ

We use BQ78Z100 in our battery packs and need to be able to write data to the Manufacturer Info Blocks via the HDQ bus. I know this is possible because I am able to do it with the Battery Management Studio tool. Can you tell us the sequence of commands necessary to do this?

Hello Steve,

The sequence should be the same as the I2C commands, just follow HDQ protocol described in section 13.1 of the TRM.

Some data isn't accessible using HDQ as shown in table 13.3 of the TRM.

What is the error you are encountering when using HDQ to write the data?

Assuming that we want to write data, 0x54, to the Manufacturer Info Block A26, 0x405A, sequence of bytes transmitted over the HDQ interface should look like this:

0x3E 0x5A 0x40 0x54

Is it true?

Hello Steve,

Yes that should be the correct sequence, just make sure your starting address is correct with the offsets.
