UCC25600: Questions on Rs resistance of OC pin

Part Number: UCC25600

Let me ask you about figure.13 of datasheet.(UCC25600)
I understand that the OC level is set by Rs,Rp, Cs, Cp.
If it has the same OC level, could it be a problem if the Rs value is high (ex. RS= 100 kohm vs 1 Mohm)?
If the resistance value is large, can the sensing current become smaller and be a problem?

  • Hello,

I would think that would make your over current protection shut down your design earlier than you planned.

I would recommend using table 2 in the data sheet to setup up the over current protection of figure 13 correctly.

    Regards,

  • What I want to ask is whether it is a problem when the resistance value is high at the same OC level.
For example, if the two are the same OC level as shown below,
    #1 (Rp:1Kohm,Rs:100Kohm)
    #2 (Rp:10Kohm,Rs:1Mohm)

OCP operates at the same because as  same OC level.
But can it be a problem because the absolute value of RS of #2 is high?

  • Hello,

Higher impendences do make the design more susceptible to noise.  Theoretically this should still work; as long as, you followed the data sheet guidelines for setting this up?

    Regards,
