TPS3422: PULSE OUT for 12V rail

Part Number: TPS3422

Hi team,

Could you help provide a RESET IC solution for pulse output as below?

And after pulse out will go back to high?

Even IC is no action, RESET output is high.

We saw the TPS3422 has the function but not for 12V rail.

The pulse output low time 1.2 mS or several mS is OK.

Thank you!

  • Hi Zoe,

To answer your input voltage question, you can try (for example) voltage divide the 12V rail down to 5V for the TPS3422.

Does the customer want a lower /RST output time of around 1.2ms instead of 400ms?  If that is the case, it may be more challenging to meet that requirement.  Is the customer okay with 400ms of /RST delay?

  • Hi Ben,

    Thanks for your reply.

They are OK with 400ms of /RST delay.

But they need PB1 from high to low and keep at low, after 400ms delay, /RST has to be high.

Does the /RST after 400mS delay and turn to and keep high even PB1 keep at low?

    Thank you!

  • Hi Zoe,

Thank you for providing more information regarding the customer's application.

To answer your question, yes, /RST will de-assert after 400ms even if the PB1 signal stays low.  See below:

Therefore, /RST will de-assert after 400ms even though PB1 is held low after tRST has been reached.  I hope this answers your question.

    Ben
