BQ25150: PMID 3.3V volt output?

Part Number: BQ25150
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP21884, BQ25155

Hi,

As I understand PMID is the regulated output from BQ25150, and where VIN and Batt paths merge to feeds systems load.
Referring to ref design (PMP21884) below - as I circled in red PMID listed under Inputs(?) states the range for it as 3V-6V.

The question/s I have -
1) Is it actually possible to get 3.3V regulated output from BQ25150, if so what am I supposed to do to achieve this?
2) If not, which other Li-Ion charger chip/s would you recommend; with power path, i2c, 1.5-2A regulated 3.3V output?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

The image you posted did not properly upload.

The BQ25150 does not regulated the input voltage to PMID. It's just a switch. The BQ25155 has a regulated PMID pin with output option of 4.2V to a switch and also a battery voltage offset. To get 3.3V, with up to 2A, i'll suggest using a DC/DC converter like TPS6208833
