TPS62175: Variation of soft-start time

Part Number: TPS62175

Dear support-team!

According the datasheet of TPS62175 the soft-start mechanism rises the output voltage with a typical rise time of 10 mV/us.

Is there the possibility to calculate/determine the worst-case rise time during startup procedure?

Is there any tolerances specified?

Kind regards,

Markus

  • Markus,

I've reached out to the development team for more data on this and will let you know as soon as I get a response.

    Sincerely,

    -Matt

  • Markus,

Unfortunately as this is not a specified electrical parameter for this device we cannot provide any specific performance tolerances.

In general with this type of delay, the variation can be as much as +/- 50% when you take into account part-to-part and temperature variation although you should rarely see any more than +/- 30% of variation.  Thus, the worst case rise time you may see could be as low as 5mV/us, but this would only occur on very few units and at elevated temperatures.

    Sincerely,

    -Matt
