LM5175: Suitable FET of Power Block

Hi Team,

We would like to use LM5175 for USB PD at the following conditions.

INPUT: 12V

OUTOUT: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A, 20V/5A

Then, we need Small and Low cost solutions.

Therefore, we would like to use CSD87330Q3D(FET of Power Block).

(Unfortunately, WEBENCH can’t select Power Block for external FET.)

Could you please let us know if you have any concern* and other recommended device?

*For example, overheat (Because 2 FETs in one PKG)

Hi Hide,

Thank you for considering the LM5175. It should work if you can pay attention to heatsinking the power block. As you already mentioned, the power block has concentrated heat in a small body, and the temperature rise at 20V/5V needs to be watched.

Also please note that the NexFET is fast devices, and please be careful in doing the layout, such that the gate drive signal and its return path are closely routed side by side over the entire distance from the IC to the FET. You may refer to the following blogs:
