BQ25611D: input source detect and a good input source indication

Hi TI team

Now we are using the BQ25601RTWR in the design and plan to update to BQ25611D, we found some pin definition and register was changed on BQ25611D (PSEL, PG).

in the BQ25601 spec, there have two ways to let the sw to read the power good status (PG pin and register PG_STAT ), how to indicate this on BQ25611D now?

since PSEL pin was removed, How to detect a 12V input source and set the input current limit on BQ25611D?

Hi, the key difference between BQ25611D and BQ25601 is that BQ25611D detect D+/D- input to set the IINDPM and BQ25601 use PSEL to set the IINDPM. This has no impact to PG_STAT. PG_STAT is determined by poor source detection. D+/D- is for USB input detection. For 12V adaptor, D+/D- can be shorted together without using this feature.

I checked the latest BQ25611D SPEC and didn't find the PG_STAT info, seems already been removed and the PG_STAT register bit was marked as reserved. pls double check the spec. Can you update the sepc if the PG_STAT function is still working?

For 12V adaptor, What is the INPUT CURRENT LIMIT setting if the D+ D- is not used, is this mandatory to shorted D+D- together? is that ok for these two pin open?
