TL431: Pin Config confirmation for TO-92

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Customer found a discrepancy on their component footprint for the TO-92 (LP) package of TL431.
Which is the correct pin configuration image1 or image2 ?


Image2 corresponds to the Pin Functions table on page4 of the datasheet. While image1 corresponds to the footprint found on UltraLibrarian linked to the device product page here - https://vendor.ultralibrarian.com/ti/embedded?vdrPN=TL431ACLP&sid=016b95f4b206001cc34907951a8803073001206b0086e&c=1

Please help to confirm.

    Hi Art,

    Currently the TL431 TO-92 pinout numbering scheme do not match the industry standard pinout for TO-92.

    I am working on fixing this so the TO-92 will follow the industry standard.

    The datasheet pin functions table and pinout table are correct when used with each other.

    In the future the TO-92 pinout table will match the industry standard.

    Image 2 is correct be cause REF = 3 in the current table/pin out.
