BQ76920: First connect battery cells, then connect the GND(V-)

Hi Team,

My customer is asking for usage of BQ76925 & BQ76920.

They ask if there are any risks for BQ76925 & BQ76920 connect battery cells first, then connect to the GND(V-) when they install the cells with AFE.

The total connect time is about dozens of seconds.

Such as the below schematics, finally connect to GND after the cells and PACK+ are connecting with AFE.

    Add another message, they are not using the current measurement function and short the SRP and SRN pins.

    Hi Xing,

    For both the BQ76920 and BQ76925 battery- should be connected first to provide the VSS reference for the ICs.  If the cells are connected first and the part is awakened the part will be providing power to the controllers with VSS floating and power flowing out the lower cell inputs.  This will violate the abs max limits of the IC.  It is not know if damage will occur, but it is not recommended.
