TPS51397A: Mode pin function

Hi，

    From the spec, i know that the operation mode can be selected via mode pin.

But i am wondering if the operation mode can be dynamic change during operation.

i was also told that the device with above feature is being developed.

Could you help check it?

    Hi Jacky,

    For TPS51397A, the mode cannot be dynamic change during operation. The mode is fixed during operation.

    By the way, it's true some new devices are in development. Could you share some more detailed information of the requirements in your application? Does it have the requirement for the dynamic change between OOA and PSM mode? Or some other kinds of need for the dynamic mode change?

    Hi Andrew:

                For Arm platform laptop power design, it is necessary to have this feature to achieve lower power loss at S5 state and lower noise at S3 state.

                 The power rail is always on at both state. 

                 In additon, the converter VIN supply current(switching) must be less than 1mA.
