BQ24650: BQ24650RVAT: high current peak when the mosfets switch and one mosfet burnt

Part Number: BQ24650

Hello,

In one of our design we use the BQ24650RVAT. We set up the charge current at 15A. We have noticed high current peak (around 400A) going through Q13 (We have add a sense resistor between the Q13 source and the ground, see graph below). These current peaks are caused by the switching short circuit that occur. Unfortunately, some of our Q13 melt and broke.

Do you have any advice to improve this circuit in order to not get these current peak? Or maybe can you advice an other chip (footprint compatible) ?

Thanks,

Best Regards
