BQ25890H: BQ25890H feeding external circuits using the REGN LDO

Part Number: BQ25890H

Dear All,

It seems to me that feeding external circuits with the BQ25890H REGN LDO should be possible. Can someone confirm this?

In the datasheet some REGN LDO test conditions are mentioned like Vvbus=5V Iregn=20mA. What is meant by Iregn=20mA? Is this the test load current drawn from the pin or does this also include the current drawn by the internenal circuits? In other words, if it is possible to power external circuits with the REGN LDO, what is the maximum allowed current that can be drawn from this pin?

Many thanks for your help,

Patrick

  • Patrick,

REGN LDO is the housekeeping power supply for the charger. It is not recommended to connect any load to the REGN pin. Please only connect a 4.7 µF (10 V rating) ceramic capacitor from REGN to analog GND.

    Thanks,

    Ning
