TPS3710: Which VDD is Power-on reset starts, 0.8V(V(POR)(MAX)) or 1.8V?

Part Number: TPS3710

Hello,

"During power on, VDD must exceed 1.8 V for at least 150 μs before the output is in a correct state." is written on page 6 of the TPS3710 data sheet.

But I think TPS3710's Power-on reset voltage V(POR) is 0.8V(MAX).

Can I use TPS3710 for Power-on reset from VDD 0.8V, during power on ?

If "0.8V" is right, could you tell me "Start-up delay" from not VDD=1.8V but from VDD=0.8V ? Could you tell me "Start-up delay" from not VDD=1.8V but from VDD=0.8V ?

Okuyama.

  • Hi Okuyama-san,

Yes, you can use VPOR (0.8V) max but there is no guarantee about the state of the output.  Also, the falling VDD UVLO spec is:

which means that if you operate at between 0.8V < VIN < 1.8V, we do not guarantee the operation and the electrical specs of the device.
