Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer will be using LMZM23600SILR and is concerned is the device is capable of supplying a constant output current of at least 480mA? 

He will be using it as a constant current source for display backlight here - https://www.orientdisplay.com/pdf/AFY1024600A0-7.0INTH.pdf

    Hello Art, 

    The LMZM23600 is configured for 500mA maximum output current. 

    I would suggest using the LMZM23601 for more margin - it is capable of delivering 1A. 

    It is possible to configure the device for constant current operation, but keep in mind that the reference voltage of the device is 1V. They would have to consider the power dissipation in their current sensing. 

    Alternatively, I'd suggest using a dedicated LED driver from the TI LED driver portfolio.
