BQ25611DEVM: Vsys behavior when Vbat < Vsys_min

Part Number: BQ25611DEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25611D, EV2400

Hello,

I am working on the BQ25611D evaluation kit. I have a Li-ion battery simulator connected to Vbat, and a meter connected to Vsys. I am using the default settings because I forgot to order the EV2400 Interface Module.

I am testing the Vsys_min behavior. The datasheet states that Vsys_min default value is 3.5V. However, when I set the battery simulator for 3.09V on Vbat, Vsys still follows to 3.09V. Is this correct behavior? I would expect regulation to stop at this low Vbat .

Thank you,
Chris

  • Chris,

VSYS_min is valid when a valid adaptor is present. When in supplement mode with the battery only, VSYS follows VBAT. Please refer to 9.3.5.1 Narrow VDC Architecture and 9.3.5.3 Supplement Mode on the d/s for the details.

    Thanks,

    Ning
