LM5176-Q1: Are overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown 100% tested?

Part Number: LM5176-Q1

Hi,

I am considering using the device of LM5176QPWPRQ1.
(Question)
Is the overcurrent protection (VCS(BUCK), VCS(BOOST)) and thermal shutdown (TSD) described in the data sheet electrical characteristics 100% tested?
Or is it a sampling inspection?

Best regards,

  • Hello Kaji,

How and what we are testing on every IC is TI proprietary information, so I can only tell you that we test according the below linked terms of sale.

Please have a look at this information here:

Testing and other quality control techniques are used to the extent TI deems necessary. TI does not necessarily test all parameters of each Product. (This is from the North American page).

I expect that the meaning of this sentence from the Japanese page is the same:

    テスト及びその他品質管理手法は、TIが必要とみなす範囲において使用される。TIは、個々の本製品に係わる全てのパラメーターについて必ずしもテストを実施するものではない。

In addition, please keep in mind that especially the overvoltage protection is dependent on a working external feedback divider.

  • Thank you for your reply.
However, I can't open the linked material.
    Could you answer in writing?
By the way, I asked the same question with another product below, but got the answer that current protection is 100% tested and thermal shutdown is not.
    Best regards,

  • Hello Kaji,

Sorry for the problem with the link. This should have pointed to the sales terms given as link in the last page of every datasheet.

Interesting that you got this information from others. Normally this is information we do not disclose. I will clarify.
