TL4051A: Output Capacitor

Part Number: TL4051A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM4040

Hi all,

My customer considers to use TL4051/LM4040 and datasheet states that "The TL4051 does not require an output capacitor across CATHODE and ANODE for stability. However, if an output bypass capacitor is desired, the TL4051 is designed to be stable with all capacitive loads.".

Similar description can be found on data sheet of LM4040.

Just for confirmation, does it mean LM4051/LM4040 is stable regardless of any output capacitance(Is there no limitation for output capacitor?).

Is this understanding correct?

Best regards,
