BQ25713B: BQ25713B: when charge full system output 8.8V

Part Number: BQ25713B

Hi

The customer use BQ25713B design schematic.

supplies 12V and charges the 8.4V battery. After battery fully charged, it is found that the VSYS voltage is 8.8V, the battery voltage is 8.5V, and the difference is 0.3V, which should be 0.16V according to the specification.

Does it normal?

Thanks

Star

  • Hi Star,

       What is VSYSMIN setting?

  • Hi Kedar Manishankar

    Thanks for your reply.

    VSYSMIN is set, 0xc=0x0 0xd=0x18

The charging voltage is set to 8.4V, the input voltage is 12V, and it can be charged normally, but after the input voltage is adjusted to 11V, it becomes abnormal.

The VSYS voltage is 8.4V at the moment of power-on, but it will be pulled down to 1V after a few seconds. It seems that the load capacity is not enough.

Is there a requirement for the input and output voltage difference?

    Thanks

    Star

  • Hi Star,

The input voltage and output voltage settings above are fine, and this charger will seamlessly transition between buck, boost and buck boost states without host intervention. When starting up, can you start up with no load, and after converter has been enabled (~200ms after valid VBUS applied) then apply the load and check operation?
