UCC28C42: PSpice - 'Steady state' and 'startup' differences

Part Number: UCC28C42

Hello!

Could you please help me understand the difference between the 2 models: Startup and Steady state?

Both the models have Current mode PWM controller Transient mode as description. So would like to understand the difference between the models.

Do we have documentation or blogs that we could refer to?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Needhu

  • Hi,

For the steady state model, internal circuits are pre-biased in a way to speed up the simulation and certain data sheet parameters such as startup current are not modeled. For the startup model, circuits inside the model are biased according to initial application of VDD so that parameters such as startup current are captured in this model version but the simulation run time is estimated to be ~5x longer.
