LM74700-Q1: Minimum FET Rdson

Part Number: LM74700-Q1

Hi Team,

The LM74700-Q1 datasheet recommends a FET Rdson sized for a minimum 20mV drop at nominal current. I am looking into this device for a 150mA nominal/3A max load application, and the 20mV requirement would result in too high power dissipation at max load. Is the reasoning behind this the magnitude of the reverse current during a reverse current event? If so, can lower Rdson be used as long as the application can tolerate the resulting max reverse current at the worst-case -17mV threshold for RCB?

Thanks,

Antonio
