TPS23861: TPS23861 PG issue

Hi,

Recently, i met a issue that TPS23861 will power-ff randomly for ~10s when power delivering, and after ~10s, it can power on automatically. this issue will happen once in ~2 days. And we found that only PG1 bit in the reg [Power Status Register] become 0. nothing else unusual, do you have any suggestions on how to narrow down the issue?

From my opinion, if there is only PG1 -> 0, i guess it's caused by other things in the power rail, which shutdown the power, and our TPS23861 indicates that PG1 is 0.

Hi Mason, either the PSE tried to remove power due to fault (either output overload current or MPS not met) or if there was a reset or power-on reset from the MCU. You may need to check waveforms to confirm which one. You can look at RESET if it was asserted. You will also need to check current through the port to verify if there was a ICUT fault. You can trigger on Vport. For ICUT though, there should have been an interrupt.
