UCC27288: Determining Max Switching Frequency for Gate Drivers

Hi All,

I'm looking for a way to calculate or determine the maximum switching frequency based on the information available in the datasheets. Using the UCC27288 as an example, is there a way to use the switching characteristics to determine what the maximum switching frequency could be? (Let's assume we have a MOSFET's gate charge value as well)

This is very helpful!

One last clarification, would the "TPW,min Minimum input pulse width that changes the output" offer at least a ceiling to what frequency it's capable of operating at? (ignoring power dissipation limits)

Hello Chris,

No that the minimum pulse width may not be an accurate representation of the maximum switching frequency capability of the IC. For example 20ns min pw, ~50MHz which is will well beyond this driver's capability.
