When SDRV is not used, what problem would occur if the 1nF capacitor was not present?

    Hi Jim,

    The gate driver is expecting to see a FET's gate capacitance.  Without that capacitance, the driver output voltage oscillates.  The EMI from the oscillation can couple into the charger, causing measurement errors, and/or cause EMI for other circuits.
