Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63805, TPS63802
Hi,
we are considering TPS61022 in our design.
Please find attached schematics for your review. Let us know any missing in our design.
Input voltage : 2.7 to 5.5V
Output voltage : 3.3V / 2A

Hi Arumugam,
Thank you for reaching out.
Looks like there is no obvious problem for the schematic. But you may know that when Vin is higher than 3.3V, TPS61022 enters into pass-through mode so output voltage is no longer regulated at 3.3V.
Hi Zack Liu,
Thanks for your support.
I could not understood your below answer. Can you please explain bit more information to get better understanding.
>> But you may know that when Vin is higher than 3.3V, TPS61022 enters into pass-through mode so output voltage is no longer regulated at 3.3V.
I have also simulated through TI Webench simulation from 2.7 to 5.5V. Please find the attached simulation report.
Based on the simulation result from my understanding, The TPS 61022 can be generate the regulated 3.3V output voltage from 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Arumugam,
TPS61022 is a boost converter. When Vin is lower than 3.3V, device will regulate the output 3.3V. When Vin is higher than 3.3V, the output voltage follows Vin with a voltage drop a voltage drop of high-side PMOS.
If you need a constant 3.3V, a buck-boost converter is needed.

Hi,
Thanks for your support.
I have done and attached webench simulation for TPS63802.
I hope this will work for my requirement. I hope i can get the regulated output voltage 3.3V even if input voltage change between 2.7 to 5.5V.
Please share your comments .
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Arumugam,
Sorry I only support boost converter devices.
You can submit a new E2E thread. The buck-boost device experts will answer your questions.
Hi Zack Liu,
As per your suggestion we have used TPS63802DLAR part in our design.
The sourcing team had difficulty to procure the part for assembly.
You have any answer for this??
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Arumugam,
How many parts do you need now?
If the qty is small, like only 10pcs, we can provide you samples through FAE.
Hi Arumugam,
I'll send you a friendship request. Let's discuss it in email.
