BQSTUDIO: Bugreport: BQSTUDIO-TEST_1.3.102.1 with bq76952 (7695_0_036)

Part Number: BQSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952,

Hello TI team,

I think I found a bug in the test version of the BQSTUDIO-TEST_1.3.102.1 with using the updated version of bq76952.

When trying to write to the Cell Balancing Active Cells (subcommand 0x0083) the subcommand is not written to register (0x3E, 0x3F) before writing the data to register (0x40, 0x41).
Also there is not writing of the length and checksum register (0x60, 0x61).

I provided som images for clarification/proof:

Data written via I2C

Another thing I recognized is:

When writing Configuration settings BQSTUDIO does send the subcommand address to 0x00 instead of 0x3E, but it seams to work anyway.

best regards,

Tobias

  • Hi Tobias,

Thanks for reporting this. We have mostly seen people use the Command Sequence window when using this feature, and you are correct that the checksum and length need to be written. I will look into what it will take to get this feature added to the Registers screen in the future.

    Best regards,

    Matt
