Hi Experts:

A few questions about TPS4H000-Q1 to check with you:

1. The current limit value set by CL pin is the current limitation for each channel, not the total current for 4 channels, right?

2. The max norminal dc load current in datasheet is 0.75A, why the internal current limit value can be 1-1.6A?

3. What's the minimum current limit value customer can set? Is there any limitation here? My understanding is that as long as the accuracy can meet the requirement, customer can set the current limit value as low as they like, right?

Correct.

This is difference between a transient and dc condition. its more about heat and protection of fet why the DC condition doesn't equal internl Ilim.

Generally you may not always want to have a hair trigger current limit, and even external current limit > DC condition. A relatively small dip above a stable dc current wont kill the device but a true soft or hard short to gnd will because that will become the DC condition or current will rise until IC buries itself.

Regarding the internal vs ext current limit, please see here for an E2E from one of my colleagues supporting these de ices.

FOr #3, what You've said is basically correct but i will loop in my colleague who supports this product family who can better answer this question with more authority.
