LM5021: LM5021 for Vin>75V design

Part Number: LM5021
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28C42, UCC28C44, LM5121

Hi,

My customer wants to use LM5021 to design a 300W DC/DC converter, the condition as the following;

Vin: 20~75VDC
Vout: 36~75VDC
Switch frequency: 120KHz

Does TI recommend this design? Or has any solution to suggest, thanks.

Regards

Rock

  • Hello,

    Your thread has been assigned. You should be receiving a reply shortly.

  • Hello,

    The LM5021 has a VCC enable threshold of 17 to 23 V, with a typical startup of 20V.  I would not recommend using this device for a design with inputs of 20V.

    The UCC28C42 and UCC28C44 can work down tow 15.5V.  You might consider using one of these devices in a forwarded converter.

    If you do wish to perusing this design with a UCC28C42 or UCC28C44 and have questions in regards to device operation and/or design.  Please repost to the e2e with the part number in thread title so the appropriate applications engineer can answer your questions.

    Regards,
