BQ51050B: BQ51050B design Question

Part Number: BQ51050B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00318, BQ51003

Dear Sir/Ms.

My customer has a question when designing bq51050B.
Regarding the calculation of the serial/parallel capacitance of RX Coil, how do L's and Ls correspond to Coil's Spec?
Also, do we have a recommended TX?
The charging target is a battery of about 50mAh, and the charging current is less than 50mA.

Best Regards,

Kami Huang

  • Hello Kami Huang

The L's and Ls measurements are described in section 9.2.1.2 of data sheet.  L's represents the coil L value when installed and device is on TX.  Ls represents coil L value free space, data sheet L.

We have recommended the TYLT-VU-SOLO and TYLT-VU.

50mA is a little low for this device, charge current of 100mA and termination of 30mA are best.  For low charge currents 50mA see BQ51003, TIDA-00318.
