How to power AM3517 from regulated 3.3Vin source.

I need to power a AM3517 from a regulated 3.3V that is coming from off-board. The recommended TPS65023 is way overkill and not made for this configuration. INPUT: regulated 3.3V OUTPUTS: 1.8V @1.0A and 1.2V @1.5A Also need sequencing which includes a switch on the 3.3V because it must come up last. There is also a 2nd 3.3V rail needed for other parts in the system so if not provided, I may add a load switch of some sort for that. Is there a good PMIC part to do this with a minimal footprint?

Hello Mike,

Can you review the other PMIC recommendation for AM3715 listed here ? Let us know the reason if the other PMICs listed there also don't match your requirements.

I don't believe you address the design consideration of 3.3V input. The TPS650732, for example, clearly states "3.6V – 6.3V Input Voltage Range."

What supplies power to the 3.3V bus? This supply should probably be used instead of the 3.3V to power one of the integrated PMU solutions.

In addition, we have two reference designs which are for 3.3V in and 1.2V, 1.8V and 3.3V out for a similar processor, substitute a supply with a higher current rating for the 1.2V rail for the AM35xx: Simple Power Solution Using LDOs (http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/slva342a/slva342a.pdf) and Medium Integrated Power Solution Using a Dual DC/DC Converter and an LDO (http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/slva343a/slva343a.pdf).
