BQ77915: adding a Pre-charge line while using this part

Hello ,

Can i add a pre charge resistor path when using this IC ? Control signal for this can be make available by some other means . Technically is there any issue or whether it will interrupt the operation of BQ7791506 in any ways if i add a precharge path separately (In parallel to charge and discharge FET's ).

Hi Basil,

I do not think there will be any problems with the device. One of the challenges with precharge using the resistor is the power dissipation of the precharge current limit resistor. Direct this away from your cells as needed for your design. Make sure to select a resistance and component ratings suitable for your requirement.
