Hello,

I have a query on the TPS76950  5V output SOT23-5 Linear regulator. I'm using it at low output current 1 - 2mA and would like to know the approximate typical output voltage tolerance over -20 degree C to +55 degree C. If this is not available I would like to know the typical output voltage setpoint at room temperature.

    Hi Seamus,

    While the datasheet does not have the plots you are looking for, it does have information in the figures that we can use to make an educated guess. Figures 2 and 3 show show that for the 1.5V and 3.3V versions both only have a deviation on the order of 1-2mV with Iout=1mA. This deviation doesn't really change between these versions, so it is a pretty safe bet that the same holds mostly true for the 5V version. At worse, you may want to add a couple mV, so maybe 3-4mV could be a good guess for the deviation due to load current. 

    The deviation due to temperature is a little more tricky, but we an still make a worst-case guess as to how much deviation you might see. Figures 5 and 6 show the deviation due to temperature for the 2.5V and 3.3V versions. The 3.3V version has a larger deviation than the 2.5V version, so we can make the same for the 5V version compared to the 3.3V version. The 3.3V version at Iout=1mA shows a max max deviation from room temperature in the range -20C to 55C of about 10-12mV according to Figure 6. The 5V version will likely be a little worse, so we could say that it likely is around twice the deviation of the 3.3V version as a worst-case, so about 20-25mV deviation max. 

    So, I think a good estimation of the total deviation over temperature and with load current would be about 23-29mV.
