I would like to have suggestions for single cell LiPo battery charging ICs that are similar to BQ24195L/BQ24298 for the application of GSM/cellular internet connectivity. The main feature required is that of 'Power Path' or DPPM similar to that of BQ24195L/BQ24298 i.e. the battery should be able to provide current to the output in case the input power source is not sufficient. I am looking for a solution simpler than these two mentioned ICs. Also, my application requires standalone solutions. The VIN in my application is 5V, hence a buck regulator or even a linear regulator based solution would work. There is only one input supply (i.e. VIN).
I have used modules that use BQ24195L/BQ24298 as their charging solution and they work well. There are several standalone buck and linear regulators available that also offer 'Power Path' feature, however, it seems like the 'Power Path' feature offered by these two ICs is different than the others (as per the datasheets).
