TLV702: SCH review

Part Number: TLV702

Hi team,

Could you help for the TLV70233 SCH review?

Thanks!

  • Hi Amelie,

Please make sure that the enable pin voltage does not exceed the Vin voltage through proper sequencing of the 1.8V rail and 3.8V rail.  The ferrite bead B2 looks like an inductor with some DC resistance at low frequency.  Please be sure that the Q of the ferrite bead with the capacitors is damped.

The Q of an LRC circuit can be calculated from the following equation:

As a general rule of thumb, you want Q < 2.

Everything else looks good to me.

    Thanks,

    - Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

    Thanks for your reply.

As for the proper sequencing of the 1.8V rail and 3.8V rail, I am a little confused.

Usually firstly 3.8Vin and then enable the EN pin, is it right?

Because EN PIN is connected to 1.8V, how will it exceed the Vin=3.8V?

  • Hi Amelie,

It is not shown in the schematic how the 1.8V and 3.8V are generated. But from the datasheet, the EN pin voltage cannot exceed Vin.  So the 3.8V would need to come up first prior to the 1.8V.  As long as that sequence of events is happening, this portion of the design will be fine.

    Thanks,

    - Stephen
