I would like to ask about the role of C11 in the isolation band of LM25184EVM-S12. I would like to ask whether LM25184 can be used for 5000V isolation. What are the precautions for doing isolation strength? Is there documentation of isolation strength?

Hello,

Capacitor C11 is to reduce common-mode EMI by returning any such currents to the primary side that were transferred across the transformer interwinding capacitance to the secondary. This cap is rated at 2kV and the transformer ZA9672-BE from Coilcraft is rated at 1.5kVrms (functional isolation).

For 5kV you would need a higher isolation rating transformer and a higher voltage cap (if installed).
