BQ78PL114 Communication Problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114, BQWIZARD

Hello Everyone

I'm working with a 4 Cell - BatteryManagement System based on the BQ78Pl114 . We developed a system simulary to the EVM Kit. I tried to connect de BqWizard Software over the Ti-USB-TO GPIO interface adapter. The adapter is correctly configurated and worked with the EMVKit ( First we get familary with the EMVKit before we developed our own board). No the Bqwizard software can't connect to the chip, also the Scan Bus faild. I checked the SMBclock and SMBdata line with a osciloscope and we could verfiy that the signal is connected correctly to the Bq78PL114 but it doesn't answer. The totaly strange thing is: the LED1 And LED2 are blinking in the shutdown-mode. Can you tell me how the shutdown mode is indicated? could it be that the Bq78PL114 has a unadressed state when it is deliverd?

best regards Andreas Gut

  • Hello Andreas

I found your post and wondered how you solved your problem because I see no answer.
We are working on a setup with 6 cells and are facing the same problem.
EVM works fine, the own circuit is not willing to communicate, LED-shutdown-mode blinking...

Did you found the solution for this?

    Kind Regards,

    Gerhard
