BQ40Z50-R1: Current reading opposite polarity

I've removed the terminal blocks at J5, J3, & J4 and had wires installed as appropriate. For some reason I am now seeing the currents reading negative when in a charging situation and positive in a discharge situation. I've tried calibrating this current but get the polarity error. Is there another way to fix this problem? Should I check certain parts of the circuit? I have the following readings for registers

Hi Magdalena Dale,

Double check your hardware connections, if you have negative current when it should be positive the current is flowing the wrong direction on the sense resistor.
Also make sure your battery is connected to the battery terminals and not the pack terminals.

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for the response. I totally goofed and had power/battery backwards. I do see some damage to the PCB coil looking trace between Pack+ and sys pres terminals. Will that cause any issues with the BQ40Z50?

Hi Magdalena,

Based on your description I am guessing there may be some damage to the board. However, you can try properly connecting it and seeing how it performs.
