TPS2042B-Q1: capacitor value at out-pin

Part Number: TPS2042B-Q1

Hello Experts,

Regarding datasheet Figure 9-12/9-13, output capacitor value is 33uF per downstream port. But Note A mentioned "USB rev 1.1 requires 120 µF per hub". How customer choose a output capacitor value on OUT-pin? Customer should choose 120uF per downstream port? Or 33uF per downstream port is enough?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara,

If it's for hub application, it requires no less than 120uF.

For others, it's according to customer's application.

For TI's policy, I will first click resolved button.
